Apple announced the release of multiple IMAX formatted documentaries for its Vision Pro headset in a new wave of what it is calling “spatial films” which it hopes will transform movie watching.
The documentaries include A Beautiful Planet 3D, Pandas 3D, Super Power Dogs 3D, and Deep Sky, and join a list of 150 3D films that were released for the Vision Pro earlier.
Apple Vision Pro boasts ultra-high-resolution micro-OLED displays, delivering an unmatched viewing experience with brilliant color and extraordinary clarity.
These displays, with more pixels than a 4K TV for each eye, are complemented by an advanced Spatial Audio system, providing users with rich sound and immersive audio experiences.
The device supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and Lossless Audio, ensuring top-notch audiovisual quality.
With access to more than 150 3D movies and Apple’s Immersive Video format, users can enjoy unparalleled depth and clarity in their entertainment experiences.
Apple Immersive Video features 180-degree 3D recordings with Spatial Audio, transporting viewers to the heart of captivating stories and moments.
Users can also interact with immersive experiences like Encounter Dinosaurs, where lifelike prehistoric creatures come to life in their physical space.
The app features the Cinema Environment, enabling users to customize their viewing experience and choose their preferred seat within the virtual theater.
Users can also download and stream content from top streaming services, including Disney+, ESPN, and Amazon Prime Video, including box office hits like Dune and Avatar: The Way of Water.
The release of IMAX films is a smart move by Apple because it links the high-end headset with what is billed as the ultimate movie watching experience of IMAX.
